Pivô Salvador invites you to the Open Studio on Wednesday, October 30th, from 5 PM to 8 PM, marking the end of Borba‘s artistic residency.

In collaboration with musician Husband (aka Joshua Fisher), who accompanied him throughout his residency at Pivô Salvador, Borba’s sculptures will, for the first time in his work, experiment with audible dimensions, offering layered, synesthetic, and atmospheric sensory experiences.

During the Open Studio, Borba and Husband invite visitors to explore the rooms of Pivô Salvador’s house and immerse themselves in a three-act experience: in the garden and outdoor area, ACT I – Opening; in the reading room, ACT II – Choir; and in the studio, ACT III – Aria.

This experimental work is the result of how Borba’s sculptural practice interacts with the sounds of the city and the immediate environment around the residency space. As the artist carves, burns, paints, presses, and manipulates the wood, resulting in rough, cracked, yet alluring bodily forms, the process blends with a series of sounds drawn from his immersion in Salvador.

Accompanying the event, the kitchen will be activated by visual artist and gastronomy enthusiast Guilherme Almeida.
