The Pivô invites the public to the opening of Pivô Satélite #8 on June 23 (Tuesday), starting at 6 PM, at the Pivô Copan storefront, featuring works by seven artists across five videos, one sound piece and one visual installation. As part of the opening, at 7 PM, Pivô welcomes researcher Ana Roman and artists Denise Agassi and Juno B for the conversation “Moving Image as a Research Methodology” with Satélite curator Pedro Azevedo. Free admission.
Taking the works presented in the eighth edition of Pivô Satélite as its starting point, the talk proposes a discussion on alternative forms of creating and exhibiting moving images, exploring the intersections between video, sound, performance and digital art.
Part of the celebrations marking Pivô’s 15th anniversary, Satélite #8 is curated by Pedro Azevedo and Noelia Portela and is held in partnership with Persona Curada, a nomadic Latin American contemporary art organization based in Paris. The program runs until August 2, with visiting hours from Wednesday to Saturday, 1 PM to 7 PM, and on Sundays and public holidays, 12 PM to 6 PM.
This edition features the following works: “Persona” (2021), by Liv Schulman; “Eyes of plants” (2019), by Patricia Dominguez; “Caso 0 – Zone of Dispute” (2021), by Juno B; “Ori de Cobra é Caminho de Ferro” (2021), by Maya Quilolo; “Time Capsule” (2021), by Denise Agassi; “Doors” (2022), by Wisrah C. V. da R. Celestino and the photographic installation “Pinocchia tales” (2024), by R. Moreno.

Running since 2020, Pivô Satélite is a digital platform dedicated to creation and experimentation in the field of moving images, conceived as a space for research, curatorship and the production of audiovisual works designed for both online and physical environments.
