14th Annual Pivô Auction

The Pivô Annual Auction reaches its 14th edition, reaffirming the commitment that has guided the institution since its founding: understanding art as a collective gesture, a field of experimentation, and a force of continuity. This edition features, so far, the participation of 169 artists. The auction takes place in a hybrid format, with an exhibition at Pivô Copan between November 29 and December 9, and online at leilaoanualpivo.org.br (starting November 25), with the live auction held on December 6 via the iArremate platform.

As in previous years, the starting bid begins 30% below market value, and each artist may choose to make a full donation or receive up to 50% of the hammer price. In 2025, works by artists such as Anna Maria Maiolino, Novíssimo Edgar, Rebeca Carapiá, Leda Catunda, Hal Wildson, Manauara Clandestina, Juliana dos Santos, Laís Amaral, AVAF, Alberto Pitta, Alexandre da Cunha, among others, have been confirmed. The full list can be found on the website: leilaoanualpivo.org.br (starting November 25).

The auction, created in 2012 with the purpose of strengthening contemporary art and sustaining an autonomous space for experimentation, has counted over the years on the participation of around 600 artists—both established and emerging—who are part of or have taken part in Pivô’s programs, and more than 1100 works across different mediums.

“Pivô has come this far thanks to the collaboration of hundreds of people who invest in artistic experimentation. Every year, a significant portion of the funds raised is reinvested in the artistic community through programs of training, experimentation, commissioning, and cultural exchange. It is this network of creativity and commitment that drives us to embrace change and build collective futures for art in Brazil,” says Fernanda Brenner, Pivô’s Artistic Director.

The Auction has been an essential part of Pivô’s history and one of the main ways to raise funds for the maintenance of its activities. For Jaqueline Santiago, Pivô’s Institutional Director, the event is also a meeting point for different agents in the art field. “The Auction is a space of convergence for artists, galleries, curators, and collectors—those who have followed Pivô for years as well as new collectors who find here an opportunity to start a collection while directly supporting contemporary artistic production,” she states.
