OPEN CALL: CURATORIAL RESIDENCY IN MUNICH (GERMANY)
Organized by: ARTIST-IN-RESIDENCE MUNICH, Ebenböckhaus + Salta art + Pivô Salvador
Pivô Salvador opens applications for a curatorial residency in the city of Munich. Through this open call, up to five candidates will be pre-selected and nominated by Pivô, with the final decision for one curator made by the City of Munich’s Department of Arts and Culture, in collaboration with Salta art.
Pivô encourages applications from curators interested in fostering exchange between the South American and Munich art contexts. Curators whose practices engage with contemporary artistic, social, or cultural discourses, and who wish to conduct research, develop projects, or establish institutional and artistic networks during their stay.
The open call is intended for curators over 18 years old, born in the North or Northeast of Brazil, as part of Pivô Salvador’s efforts to strengthen research and artistic production networks that challenge established centers and expand opportunities for other national territories.
The residency includes an economy-class flight ticket, health insurance, a research grant (€1300), accommodation at Ebenböckhaus, curatorial support, and a public program at the end of the residency.
Applications will be open from December 10, 2025, to January 16, 2026 (until 11:59 p.m., Brasília time). The selected curator will be announced on February 13, 2026. The residency will take place from August 25 to September 24, 2026.
The residency operates in English, and proficiency in the language is required. Applications must be submitted through the application form, which must be completed in English, as well as all supporting materials.
