Cosmovisions on Land and Entangled Futures - Laboratório de Pesquisa [02 e 03 de março]

Cosmovisions on Land and Entangled Futures is a project that proposes to shed light on the relationship between land rights and the social and political agency of nature from non-extractivist perspectives. The project centres on practices that reveal worldviews at the intersections between land rights and climate justice, questioning and opposing Euro-capital-centric dominant narratives. Based on experimentation and collaboration, the project explores formats that challenge hierarchical structures of production and presentation of knowledge. The project seeks to embed decolonial thinking and Indigenous semiotics in the methodologies, challenging modernist/euro-centric/white frameworks of thought, such as the separation of humans and nature.
How can land & territory, considered through Black experience & ancestral cosmologies, offer us an understanding & embodiment of the world beyond-the-human for a more sustainable future?
What methodologies can be developed to de-centre the human within artistic practice?
At Pivô, this Research Laboratory aims to discuss issues related to the interdependence and de-hierarchization between humans and nature. This 2-day event offers a platform to connect local, territorial and social struggles with urgent global concerns to imagine other possible realities that respond to more sustainable futures.
