Pivô and Projeto ESTUFA Expand Partnership with Programming for Students

Continuing its partnership with Projeto ESTUFA, Pivô welcomes students from ICEIA (Centro Estadual de Educação Profissional em Formação e Eventos Isaías Alves), participants in the pedagogical artistic occupation, for a program taking place this May.

On Friday the 15th, throughout the morning and afternoon, two groups of approximately 20 students each took part in guided tours at the Pivô Boulevard headquarters. Built in the 1930s, the house once belonged to Bahian painter Presciliano Silva and played an important role in Salvador’s cultural scene for decades. The space hosted gatherings and events that brought together artists and intellectuals who were central to movements such as Tropicália and Cinema Novo, especially during the 1960s.

Created by Coletivo Semeia, ESTUFA is made up of Northeastern Brazilian artists and cultural managers committed to collaborative art practices and social transformation. The activities held at Pivô are part of Cycle 2 – Body in Bloom, a stage of the project focused on experimentation, exchange, and collaborative processes. At this stage, the artistic gesture is conceived as a practice of presence, critical thinking, and imagining the future.

On Friday (22), the groups returned to Pivô for two workshops with artists Giulia Zabarella and Jamires Martins, who are currently artists-in-residence at Pivô Boulevard. Giulia, an Italian artist based in Munich, works with performance, site-specific sound, video, and installation, exploring language, collective voice, and the spatial dynamics of participation. Meanwhile, Piauí-born artist Jamires investigates the relationships between the memory of water and forest territories through illustrations, paintings, and experimental collages.

In 2025, its inaugural year, ESTUFA traveled through territories and institutions such as Acervo da Laje, Casa das Histórias de Salvador, Galeria Mercado, and Museu do Mar during Cycle 1 – *Nurturing the Creative Body*, dedicated to cultivating roots, creating common ground, and strengthening the collective body.

Funded by the Museu Escola Família Hees Fund and carried out in partnership with Pivô Salvador and Multi Planejamento Cultural, ESTUFA works alongside the Cultural Production and Design axis of the Isaías Alves State Center for Professional Education in Training and Events (ICEIA), encompassing Technical Courses in Visual Arts, Theater, and Audiovisual Studies.
