Pivô Copan hosts “Mete Bala,” a Maldito Paris activation featuring a pop-up store and exhibition
Between July 24 and 31, Pivô Copan hosts “Mete Bala”, an activation by Maldito Paris, the French-Brazilian brand founded by Francisco Terra in 2021. Marking the brand’s arrival in Brazil, the project transforms Pivô Copan with a pop-up store and exhibition, open to the public from July 25 to 31, as well as an invitation-only fashion show on July 24 (Friday), presenting the collection Fantastic Fashion Fetish—a dialogue between Brazil’s cult of the body and the tradition of French cabaret.
Set in the late 1990s, the collection draws on Francisco Terra’s teenage memories and the pop culture of the time to establish a dialogue between fashion and fetish. From leather to long hair, the garments evoke a dreamlike fashion landscape where French haute couture traditions intersect with cabaret and the carnival culture of Brazil’s countryside in Minas Gerais. Limited editions of selected runway pieces will be available at the pop-up store at Pivô Copan.
The exhibition “FFF: Fantastic Fashion Fetish”, on view from July 25 to 31, traces the history of fashion icons that became not only objects of desire but also vehicles for eroticized—and at times deified—fantasies. From reliquaries containing locks of hair to leather corsetry; from hand-painted cameo brooches to Louis XIV’s kitten heels—or even the quilted mattresses where fetish becomes carnal—the runway looks serve as an entry point into a brief history of fetishism in fashion.
The exhibition is curated by Adrian Kammarti, who holds a PhD in Art History from the Sorbonne and teaches at the Institut Français de la Mode, with cultural production by Alban Sénault and support from the French Consulate in Brazil.
“Mete Bala” functions as a cultural platform bringing together experiences, activations, content, community, and the complete presentation of the collection first unveiled in Paris. In recent months, the brand has staged activations with figures such as Linn da Quebrada and Paulete Lindacelva.
About Maldito Paris
Maldito is a fashion and lifestyle brand that confronts French haute couture with references drawn from 1990s Brazilian pop culture, folklore, and adolescent obsessions such as telenovelas and boy bands. Through self-expression in dress, Maldito raises questions of identity that resonate with the youth of yesterday and today.
Founded in 2021, the brand first released sold-out capsule collections online, organized pop-up events, and created exclusive costumes for artists and celebrities, building a global following. In 2024, Maldito expanded into selected boutiques and is currently available in Japan, the United Kingdom, Germany, South Korea, and mainland China.
Maldito made its debut during Paris Haute Couture Week in July 2025, accompanied by a showroom that offered a select group of buyers and fashion editors a behind-the-scenes look at the brand.
