Pivô and MAC_BAHIA open applications for Module #2 – Game Design: Narratives and Interactivity

Pivô and the Museum of Contemporary Art of Bahia (MAC_BAHIA) are now accepting applications for Module #2 – Game Design: Narratives and Interactivity, led by multimedia artist Fino (Adriano Magalhães), with the participation of Indian artist Afrah Shafiq, who will be in Brazil at Pivô’s invitation with the support of the Swiss Arts Council Pro Helvetia. Applications are open until September 30 (Tuesday), through the online form available here.

The selection results will be announced on Pivô Salvador’s Instagram: @pivosalvador. Classes for Module #2 will take place in person between October 7 and November 2, 2025, on Tuesdays and Thursdays, from 5 pm to 8 pm. There are 15 places available for participants aged 18 and over, interested in working in the creative economy and in the fields of art and technology.

The course is part of the Creative Lab: Art and Technology in the Museum, an initiative by Pivô in partnership with MAC_BAHIA, aimed at providing training for young people and adults seeking initial education in technological arts, as well as professionals in career transition. Beyond introducing participants to the creative economy, the program also focuses on strengthening Salvador’s local culture and fostering transversal dialogue with other regions of Bahia.

The upcoming modules, scheduled for the first semester of 2026, will focus on 3D Modeling and Accessibility in Art (February 2026) and Artistic and Audiovisual Installations (April 2026).

Launched on August 5, 2025, the project will run until 2027, offering free courses with inclusive places and certificates of completion. Its goal is to broaden access to professional training in technological arts, with a special emphasis on the inclusion of women, Black people, and LGBTQIAPN+ communities, through affirmative action quotas of 20% for each group.

The Creative Lab: Art and Technology in the Museum also reinforces Pivô Salvador’s role as a platform for continuous education and social transformation. “Training programs like this one strengthen the local art ecosystem and expand opportunities for professional practice in the cultural field, while also fostering meaningful exchanges between artists from different trajectories and territories,” comments Carolina de Sá, Executive Director of Pivô.

By integrating pedagogical practices and cultural production based on values of equity, the project promotes the circulation of knowledge in a horizontal and inclusive way. All modules feature specialized accessibility consulting, ensuring safe and inclusive participation for diverse profiles.

“The partnership, through a public call, with Pivô consolidates MAC_BAHIA as a space for the exchange of contemporary artistic knowledge and practices, precisely because of its formative proposition that greatly interests us, as well as the languages and applications that are fully aligned with our objectives,” states Daniel Rangel, Director of MAC_BAHIA.

This project was selected by the Aldir Blanc Bahia National Policy public call and is supported by the Government of the State of Bahia through the State Secretariat of Culture via PNAB, and funded by the Ministry of Culture – Federal Government.
