Pivô and MAC_BAHIA present the closing of Module #4 of Lab Criativo with a collective artistic installation

Pivô and the Museum of Contemporary Art of Bahia (MAC_BAHIA), affiliated with the Institute of Artistic and Cultural Heritage (IPAC), invite the public to MamiFERAS Vulcânicas – Collective Artistic Installation, marking the closing of Module #4 of Laboratório Criativo: Art and Technology in the Museum, on June 19 (Friday), from 4pm to 6pm, at MAC_BAHIA.

The installation was developed throughout the course by participants Aaaalexandra Martins, Andrea May, Amanda Hauane Antunes da Silva, Dani Curvelo, Eduarda Canto, Flora Leles de Mello, Juliana Freire da Silva, Luz Morena Cerroti de Abreu, Marcela C. Porto, Maria Mariô, Mariana Passos, Mirauá Noronha de Lima, Patrícia Paixão, and Yamuna Souza, with collab from Amanda Melo da Mota, Andrea May and Isadora Moraes. Module #4 – Artistic and Audiovisual Installations was led by Virginia de Medeiros, visual artist and researcher, with the participation of Claudia Chávez, director and art educator, and Yuli Andrea Martínez Gaitán, choir conductor and French horn player.

Over the past weeks, participants developed creative processes grounded in fabulation as a relational and situated practice. The classes proposed an articulation between image, body, sound, and space in the construction of sensitive experiences based on listening, connection, and the production of alterity.

Module #4 – Artistic and Audiovisual Installations is the final module of Lab Criativo: Art and Technology in the Museum, an initiative by Pivô in partnership with MAC_BAHIA aimed at qualifying young people and adults in the fields of the creative economy, with a focus on inclusion and strengthening local culture. Altogether, the project offered four free courses exploring the intersections between artistic practices and digital technologies.

This project was selected through the Bahia National Aldir Blanc Policy Calls and receives financial support from the Government of the State of Bahia through the State Secretariat of Culture via PNAB, coordinated by the Ministry of Culture – Federal Government.
