PIVÔ PESQUISA 2025

Over the course of more than a decade, the Pivô Pesquisa residency program has taken many forms, experimenting with different dynamics and proposals. This vocation for constant reinvention not only drives the practices of the participating artists, but also fuels Pivô itself to test new ways of imagining and experiencing an artist residency.

In this special edition for the second half of 2025, the program in São Paulo will be carried out exclusively through institutional collaborations, reinforcing the commitment to cultural exchange and valuing local production. Powerful encounters between Brazilian and foreign artists will be promoted, expanding connections between territories and knowledge. As a future development, the program will be expanded as a platform for training, creation and debate, connecting the initiatives in São Paulo and Salvador in a system of cross-residencies.

The resident artists will have exclusive curatorial support sessions and training activities with professionals from different fields and backgrounds in the art world, as well as the chance to use the studio spaces at Copan. The program will also include a free public program, open to the public at Copan, reinforcing the collective nature of the residency and creating spaces for artists, the institution and visitors to share.

During the months of August to November and October, Pivô Pesquisa will host ten artists – in partnership with Pro Helvetia (Switzerland), Hangar (Spain), Ama Amoedo Foundation (Uruguay), Villa Arson (France), Salta Art (Germany) and MAC Panamá (Panama) and artists from partner institutions in the Midwest, North and Northeast of Brazil.
