PIVÔ SALVADOR LAUNCHES OPEN CALL FOR 2026 ARTISTIC RESIDENCY

Pivô Salvador is now accepting applications for its 2026 Artistic Residency Program. The open call is aimed at artists and other art and culture professionals—such as curators, researchers, educators, critics, and writers—aged 18 or older, with experience in research and/or artistic practice, who wish to develop a research and/or production project. Applications are open from October 27 to November 27, until 11:59 p.m. (BRT).
This marks the second year of residencies in Salvador, which include a research grant, accommodation, curatorial guidance, and a public program. Since its creation in 2023, Pivô Salvador has hosted 30 artists. For 2026, residencies will continue to be offered in two modalities: Immersion and Connection. This year, the Pivô Connection program will be held in partnership with CAMPO Arte Contemporânea (Teresina, Piauí).
PIVÔ IMMERSION
This modality aims to provide artistic residencies at Pivô Salvador, offering residents access to the institution’s facilities and curatorial guidance from the team.
Four (4) participants will be selected, divided into two residency cycles: three (3) spots for Brazilian applicants residing anywhere in the country, and one (1) spot for an applicant born and residing in Bahia.
Cycle #1
Period: first semester of 2026 — April 1–30, 2026
Cycle #2
Period: second semester of 2026 — November 1–30, 2026
Pivô provides:
–Research grant of R$2,000 for each participant;
-Round-trip transportation to Salvador (air or ground, depending on place of origin);
-Research accommodation with a ground-floor room and workspace (12m²), and production accommodation with a mezzanine room (16m²) and a studio workspace (52m²);
-Accommodation including breakfast and lunch;
-Shared access to kitchen, reading room, and outdoor patio;
-Curatorial guidance;
-Internet access;
-Public program at Pivô Salvador (date to be confirmed).
PIVÔ CONNECTION
Developed in partnership with CAMPO Arte Contemporânea (Teresina, Piauí), this bilateral residency seeks to expand Pivô Salvador’s institutional network and foster exchange between artistic practices from different regions of Brazil. One (1) participant will be selected for this modality, open to applicants born and residing in Bahia.
Period: first semester of 2026 — May 1–31, 2026
Pivô provides:
-Research grant of R$5,000;
-Round-trip flight (SSA–THE–SSA);
-Accommodation at the residency space;
-Shared studio facilities;
-Curatorial guidance;
-Internet access;
-Public program at Pivô Salvador (date to be confirmed after return to Bahia).
SELECTION TIMELINE

-Results announced: January 31, 2026
