1986, lives and works at Bahia, Brazil
I am currently a Master’s student in Visual Arts at the Federal University of Bahia, Brazil. And graduated in Visual Arts from the Federal University of Recôncavo da Bahia. I develop artistic projects looking for possibilities in photography, video and objects that broaden voices and an understanding of identity, territory, fiction and memory. I work with social geography and the bodies that invent territory through their use; and investigating death and its systems and creating poetics of life. I observe the way people live and build images describing the inner layers of their life and the imaginary especially within Afro-Brazilian territory.
Recently, I have shown works in the Exposes Valongo Festival Internacional da Imagem in Santos/SP; Panapana (Joao Pessoa/PB), Concerto para Pássaros (Salvador/BA), Photocena with Comfort Station, Chicago, IL, won the Salões de Artes Visuais da Bahia award 2013 (Salvador/BA), an artist in residence at Verdevez project of Campo Arte Contemporanea (Teresina/PI), Fluxos: acervos do Atlântico Sul (Salvador/BA) and individual exposure Contos Fotográficos, Museu de Arte da Bahia (Salvador/BA).
