
Originally from Uruguay and residing in Salvador since 1992, she is an architect with a Master’s in Urban Design, a Ph.D. in Urbanism from UFBA, and a Post-Doctorate in Arts from UnB. She was a temporary professor of Architectural History at FAUFBA (1998/2001); since 2002, she has been a permanent professor of Art History at the School of Fine Arts (EBA/UFBA), and since 2023, she has served as a collaborating professor in the Graduate Program in Architecture and Urbanism (PPGAU/UFBA).
She works in art and architecture criticism and participates in artistic selection juries and committees. She was part of the curatorial teams for the Rumos Visual Arts Program 2011-2013 and 2017-2018 at Itaú Cultural Institute (São Paulo), the 3rd Bahia Biennale 2014 (Salvador), Lianzhou Photo 2018 (Lianzhou, China), 21st SESC Videobrasil Biennale 2019 (São Paulo), and the 4th PhotoLux Festival 2019 (Lucca, Italy). She held an artist residency at Instituto Sacatar in April/May 2021 (Itaparica). She coordinated the Bahia Photography Colloquium in 2017, 2018, and 2019 (Salvador) and the Seminar on Female Leadership in Art, Architecture, and Design in 2024 (Salvador).
