Ana Cláudia Almeida has the painting and the drawing as her starting points. Through them, she creates surfaces that, among multiple possibilities, have layers that reveal the operation of an extended time or the climate; they perceive in themselves solidity, fluidity and what is between them; they announce by blocks of color and lines an agile time in making, or even allow themselves to be modified by the use of moving images superimposed. Abstract landscapes arising from the presence. Our affection for city rivers guides many of these formal developments, welcoming the artist’s interest in the study of narratives and materialities. In 2018 she did a solo show at Niterói Art Foundation, she has already participated in group shows at Paço Imperial in Rio de Janeiro, MAM-RJ, Instituto Tomie Ohtake among others. She was a resident artist at CMA Hélio Oiticica and in Valongo International Festival’s program. She was nominated for Pipa Prize in 2020. She is co-founder of Trovoa collective.
