1995, lives and works at Rio de Janeiro, Brazil
Graduated with a degree in Arts from the Federal University of Fluminense, Carla is a multilingual artist, co-founder, and coordinator of the national Trovoa movement. She entered the artistic realm through theater, reflecting on the narrative dimension of the body. Drawing on this formative phase, she stretches the sensory experience and makes the tactile element a fundamental part of her practice. She began her journey by tensioning clay on her own body and eventually incorporated the expansive and installative dimension of the material into her process, whether through modeling and sculpture or in liquid form, transforming it into paint.
Carla investigates the duality between the subjective and social body, materializing the immaterial through the idea of the body as a device of expressiveness. She began her career working with two companies: Terraço Artes Integradas and Mundé. Continuing in the Visual Arts, she has held solo exhibitions at Quadra Galeria, Carpintaria Fortes Daloia & Gabriel, and Centro Cultural Paschoal Carlos Magno. Among her collective exhibitions, she stands out in institutions such as Mac Niteroi, Museu de Arte do Rio, Parque Lage, Tanya Bonakdar Gallery in NY, Interior 2.1 in Mexico, Quadra SP and Rio, Auroras, Galeria 5 bocas, Museu da república, SESC Madureira, Espaço BREU, Solar dos abacaxis, Capacete, and the Valongo Festival.
