Carolina Fusilier

1985, lives and works at Mexico

Carolina Fusilier (b. 1985, Buenos Aires) is a multidisciplinary artist working across film, moving image, painting, sound, performance, and installation. Her practice explores the materiality of technology, non-linear temporalities, and the entanglement of organic and mechanical bodies.

She has received support from the Pollock-Krasner Foundation, The Banff Centre, ACC Cinema Fund, and Hot Docs–Netflix. Her films and moving-image works have been presented at institutions and festivals including MoMA’s Doc Fortnight, IDFA, Yamagata International Documentary Film Festival, DOK Leipzig, and the New York Film Festival, where her short film Corrientes Mercuriales (2023) premiered.

Recent solo exhibitions include IMAGO (Margot Samel, New York), Isla Eléctrica (PEANA, Mexico City), and Corrientes Mercuriales (Museo Jumex, Mexico City). Her work has also been exhibited at Museo Tamayo, Museo Anahuacalli, MALBA Puertos, Museo de Arte Moderno de Buenos Aires, SculptureCenter, and The Drawing Center.

Fusilier studied at Universidad del Cine (Buenos Aires, AR) and has continued her education at Kunstakademie Düsseldorf, SOMA, and Universidad Torcuato Di Tella (Programa de artistas 2011).
