Visual artist, writer, and clinical psychologist graduated from the Federal University of Espirito Santo. Master's degree in clinical psychology from PUC-SP. In her multidisciplinary practice, Castiel explores the mystery between life and death, the so-called Transmutation, and the ways of moving between these existential realms. Her familial belonging in the Bantu-Brazilian diaspora is the articulated foundation of her research on interspecies medicine and spirituality (between different forms of life). Castiel is the author of the book "When the Sun No Longer Shines Here: The Bankruptcy of Blackness" (2022) and has participated in collective and solo exhibitions nationally and internationally in Brazil. Her most recent solo exhibition took place in New York City, titled "Remember When We Spoke about Our Reunion" at the gallery that represents her, Mendes Woods. Castiel is one of the artists participating in the upcoming 35th São Paulo Biennial.
