Élle de Bernardini has a background in classical ballet from the Royal Academy of Dance in London and holds a Bachelor’s degree in Philosophy. She is a transgender woman, and her work is deeply influenced by her personal biography. Her artworks explore the intersection of gender, sexuality, biopolitics, and body technology within the context of human history and art. Her work has been exhibited in institutions such as the Museum of Art of São Paulo/MASP and the Pinacoteca do Estado de São Paulo. She participated in the 12th Mercosul Biennial curated by Andrea Giunta. In 2022, she was selected as an artist in residence at the Cité Internationale des Arts to create a documentary on Latin American art in Paris. Her works are part of collections at institutions like the Museum of Modern Art in Rio de Janeiro, Museum of Art in Rio/MAR, Pinacoteca do Estado de São Paulo, the French Government’s Collection, and the National Library of France in Paris.
