Floresta writes, translates, edits, and practices mandinga. He is a master’s student in PPG-LETRA (USP), researching narratives and poetic expressions related to Afro-Brazilian spiritual practices, insurgent literatures, and translational performances. As a semifinalist in the translation category of the 65th Jabuti Awards, he has published works such as “poemas crus” (patuá, 2016), “genealogia” (móri zines, 2019), “panaceia” (urutau, 2020 – honorable mention in the 2nd mix literary prize), and “rio pequeno” (círculo de poemas, 2022 – semifinalist in the 65th Jabuti).
