1976, lives and works at São Paulo, Brazil
Leticia Ramos explores the limits of the production and interpretation of analog images through photographic and film works that unfold into installations, objects, publications, and performances. Her practice moves between the documental and the fictional, traversing natural and imagined landscapes and the boundaries between historical records and invented narratives.
Through rigorous technical and formal experimentation, Ramos builds inventive photographic devices — such as cameras, models, and sets — to reflect on the use of image-making tools as elements of speculation and representation. Her work evokes the aesthetics of scientific expeditions, guiding the viewer through ambiguous and atemporal territories where fiction and observation coexist.
She has presented solo exhibitions at institutions such as Pivô, São Paulo; Mendes Wood DM, São Paulo and New York; Fundación Botín, Santander; and Galeria Vermelho, São Paulo. Her work has also been included in exhibitions at Instituto Moreira Salles, Sesc Pompéia, Nouveau Musée National de Monaco, and Thomas Dane Gallery, among others. Ramos has participated in the Jogja and Mercosul Biennials.
