Lina Bailón's artistic practice (Mexico City, Mexico, 1991) encompasses performance, drawing and diverse sound creation practices. Taking drawing as a starting point, her current research focuses on transmission and practices linked to music, dance, physical techniques and their historical remnants. Based on an internal process of decolonization, Bailón seeks strategies to approach and inhabit the body, understanding it as a tool of thought. Her work is situated in a Mexican political context experienced from the discomfort generated by a socioeconomic system, which objectifies and standardizes bodies, embedding in it various emotions that derive from alienation. carolina-sanchez-bailon.tumblr.com @b0mbay__
