Lucas Dupin

1985, Belo Horizonte

Lucas Dupin (b. 1985) is a visual artist with a MA Fine Art (2010) and a  BFA (2008) from School of Fine Arts of Federal University of Minas Gerais, Brazil. The main constant in his production lies in the ability to dialogue with the contexts in which he works without adhering to the repetition of mediums, materials or procedures, although very often he turns to a close observation of the transience present in everyday life looking to produce works in which parts are able to access a whole. Since 2007 his work has been exhibited and featured in several solo and group exhibitions in Brazil and abroad and awarded with prizes on different occasions. Some examples are the FUNARTE (2015), the 6th Pampulha Fellowship (2016), Art Weekend SP (2018), OCA / OEI (2018), FAAP (2017) FUNDAJ (2015) and, in previous years, the 2nd "Energias da arte" Award (2010) at the Tomie Ohtake's Institute, where he received the first place. Lives and works in São Paulo and Belo Horizonte, Brazil. Represented by the galleries Lume and Periscópio.
