Mãe Diana de Oxum

Mãe Diana de Oxum is Yalorixá of Ilê Axé Ewá Omin Nirê and president of Egbé Axé – Associação de Terreiros da Bahia. She works at the intersection of Afro-Brazilian religious communities, public institutions, universities, and civil society, developing projects focused on the valorization of Afro-Brazilian traditions, Black women, and ancestral knowledge connected to sacred plants and terreiro landscapes.

Her trajectory brings together initiatives related to human rights advocacy, the preservation of tangible and intangible heritage, and the strengthening of care and healing practices grounded in traditional knowledge from the African diaspora. In partnership with UFBA, she collaborates on research and academic activities related to landscape architecture, Afro-Brazilian heritage, and terreiro ecologies, articulating ancestry, territory, and popular knowledge.
