Marilia Furman has a degree in fine arts from the University of São Paulo (USP) and photography by SENAC. Represented by PSM Gallery (Berlin) where she has presented two solo shows (2019, 2015), the artist seeks to build her work as a social critic and to explore the limits of art in this task. His works usually investigate the universe of the commodity and work, in the investigation of materials and diverse media that can give a body and visibility to these questions. She participated in exhibitions in several galleries and alternative art spaces such as Galeria Jaqueline Martins (São Paulo, 2017); Um Trabalho, Um Texto (São Paulo, 2017); Franz Joseph Kai 3, (Vienna, 2016); Casa do Povo (São Paulo, 2014); Itaú Cultural (São Paulo, Joinville and Recife, 2012; Rio de Janeiro, 2013) and was the manager of the alternative cultural space Casa da Lagartixa between 2004 and 2006.
