1992, lives and works at Copenhagen, Denmark
Marina Dubia (São Paulo, Brasil, 1992) is an artist and writer treading the frontiers of visual arts, dance, and discourse. She works with flesh, bones, dust and institutions, with words and their effects on us. Her proposals seek to disrupt patterns of sociability, promote inquisitive observation, and untangle bodies and discourse. In 2021, she concluded her MFA at the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts, where she studied at the School of Conceptual and Contextual Practices. In 2020, she was part of PACAP 4 – Advanced Programme for Creation in Performative Arts at Fórum Dança, Lisbon. Her choreographic work ‘the margins of my limit’ was presented at Kunsthal Charlottenborg, in Copenhagen. Recent exhibitions include the collective Transition Exhibition (Kunsthaus Dahlem, Berlin) and the self-organized solo shows Glitched Belongings (Ladder Space, Copenhagen) and arriscame (M100, Odense). As performer, Marina has been on internships with choreographers Julián Pacomio, Moriah Evans, Emilie Gregsen and curator Paz Guevara. For 2023 she has been invited to develop a choreographic work and series of educational actions together with the O-Overgaden Institute for Contemporary Art (Copenhagen), which is currently displaying the letter-based installation The Voice of My Own Echo.
