Moara (Mairi, Belém do Pará, PA) is a visual artist and activist for the indigenous causes of the Tupinambá people. Her genealogical ancestry originates from the lower Tapajós region (Vila de Boim and Cucurunã). Currently she is a member of the collective of women artists from Pará, MAR, and she is a member of the collaborative art space Colabirinto and vice-president of the multi-ethnic association Wyka Kwara. In her poetics, she creates and discusses cartographies of memory, identity, ancestry, indigenous resistance, and anti-colonial thought. Her work has been included in several exhibitions, such as: Ressurgences of Amazon, together with Emerson Uyra, at Kunstraum Innsbruck (Austria); 30th edition Programa de Exposições do Centro Cultural São Paulo; Nirin Biennial in Sydney (2019); Agosto indígena (2019) - São Paulo; Re-antropofagia, at the UFF Arts Center (Niterói, 2019), among others. She was nominated for Select Magazine's Art and Education Award in 2018 for the project II Bienal do Ouvidor 63, which took place in São Paulo's largest artistic occupation.
