Noara Quintana's research focuses on the materiality of everyday objects and their interconnection with the historical relations of the Global South. Through installation and sculpture, her work gestures towards aesthetic economies, forms of architectural elements, and narratives that subvert the legacy of a colonial imaginary. Noara’s practice is underpinned by ongoing research: she was awarded the 2017 Art and Research Residency of the École des hautes études en sciences sociales, with support from the Daniel & Nina Carasso Foundation, in Paris; GlogauAIR Art Residency in Berlin, 2017; the FAAP Artist Residency in São Paulo, 2018; and in 2019, she participated in the Spinning Triangles programme at SAVVY Contemporary and, as a fellow, at the Saas-Fee Summer Institute of Art (SFSIA), both in Berlin. Most recently, she was a Laureate of the 2020 Institut Français residency programme at the Cité Internationale des Arts in Paris. Noara has participated in various exhibitions, including: “Iminência de Tragédia” at FUNARTE São Paulo and João Pessoa, “Vozes Agudas” at Ateliê 397, São Paulo, and “Desterro Desaterro” at MASC, Florianópolis. Participated in the exhibition 'de montañas submarinas el fuego hace islas [from underwater mountains fire makes islands]', curated by Yina Jiménez Suriel, in 2022
