1984, lives and works at Puchuncaví, Chile
Patricia Domínguez Claro is an artist and researcher based in Puchuncaví, Chile. Her practice explores the digital, spiritual, and ecological relationships between living species within an increasingly corporate and technological world. Through research into ethnobotany, extractivism, and healing practices, she develops works that bring together speculative fiction, spirituality, and environmental critique.
Domínguez describes her work as a process of transforming and recoding reality, operating through what she terms spiritual fiction (spi-fi). She is also the founder of Studio Vegetalista, an experimental platform dedicated to connections between art, ethnobotany, and ancestral knowledge.
Her work has been presented at institutions including the New Museum, Hammer Museum, Museum of Modern Art (MoMA), Gasworks London, Munch Triennial, Museum of Latin American Art (MOLAA), Wellcome Collection, Gwangju Biennale, Gropius Bau, Museo Nacional Thyssen-Bornemisza, Transmediale Berlin, Pinacoteca de São Paulo, and FLORA ars+natura, among others. In 2025, her work was featured in Vitamin V: Video and the Moving Image in Contemporary Art (Phaidon Press), and she received the María José Jové Award. In 2022, she was awarded the Simetría Residency Award by CERN and Fundación Botín.
