Péricles Mendes holds a PhD and an MA in Visual Arts from UFBA, in the field of creative processes. His artistic practice investigates the photographic act through fictional narratives and scenic objects (mise-en-scène), fostering intersections between the organic and the artificial, while also developing studies on the landscape of Salvador.
He served as a professor at UFRB (2024–2025) and taught photography at Senac-BA (2009–2020). He also led the workshop O meu lugar vê o mundo, aimed at residents of Ilha de Maré, in Salvador (2012–2013).
He participated in the Salões de Artes Visuais da Bahia (2008–2012), the 9th and 11th Bienal do Recôncavo da Bahia, Diário Contemporâneo de Fotografia (Belém, 2012–2014), and the 15th Salão da Bahia (2009), and was awarded at the 18th Salão Anapolino de Arte.
Recent exhibitions include In Natura / in vitro (Belém, 2024), the 65th Salão Paranaense (Museu de Arte Contemporânea do Paraná, 2014–2015), the urban intervention Ruas das Artes (Salvador, 2024–2025), and Fotografia e vídeo: coleção arte contemporânea do MAPA (Casa de la Cultura, Buenos Aires, 2022).
His works are part of collections such as the Museu de Arte do Pará (MAPA) and the Diário Contemporâneo de Fotografia collection.
