Piaba is a children’s samba circle that celebrates childhood through Brazilian music, bringing children closer to the richness, diversity, and ancestry of samba. Featuring children’s songs from different eras reimagined through the language of the roda, the project offers an affectionate, collective, and joyful musical experience, in which singing, playing, listening, and sharing become ways of bringing generations together.
More than a show for children, Piaba understands music as a space for socialization, developing attentive listening, and creating memories. Led by Júlia Maia on vocals, Jalmy on vocals and seven-string guitar, and a band, the roda combines the musical care rooted in samba tradition with the vitality of childhood, connecting children to the living force of Brazilian popular culture.
