Samara Paiva (Manaus, Amazonas, Brazil, 1995) is a self-taught painter, her research develops after the figurative painting, as practice, she explores themes like intimacy, domestic ambient, and vulnerability and investigates how the black body is perceived physically and socially. Her main medium is oil paint and she does some experiments with drawing. Her works stand out in characteristics as layer constructions, low contrast, and dark colors, to the artist these are tools for familiarity and freedom for the black being. In 2022, was selected to participate in the programs Good Black Art, Ventre of HOA Gallery, the LANCE exhibition at CCSP and SP Arte – Rotas Brasileiras.
The artist participated in Pivô Pesquisa 2023.
