Tania Scofield Almeida is an architect and urban planner trained at UFBA, with a postgraduate degree in Urban Development from IPEA and an MA in Urbanism from UFBA. Her professional trajectory is marked by her work in social housing, with nationally awarded projects focused on vulnerable urban areas.
She served as Superintendent of Social Housing at the Bahia State Secretariat for Urban Development (2003–2007) and, between 2007 and 2012, coordinated urban planning projects in Angola. Since 2013, she has been president of Fundação Mário Leal Ferreira, the institution responsible for developing urban and architectural projects for the Municipality of Salvador.
