Tiago Sant’Ana

1990, lives and works at Salvador, Bahia, Brazil

Tiago Sant’Ana is a visual artist, curator, and doctoral student in Culture and Society at Universidade Federal da Bahia. In his work as an artist, he investigates the intersections between the exercise of memory and history with the construction of Brazilian identities. He is currently a Soros Arts Fellowship (2020) and ZUM/IMS (2021). His works are part of collections such as those of the Pinacoteca do Estado de São Paulo, Museu de Arte do Rio and Museu de Arte Moderna da Bahia. Since 2019, Sant’Ana has been coordinating the Visual Arts program at the Goethe-Institut Salvador, organizing exhibitions and mentoring artists in residence. He was part of the team for the 3rd Biennial of Bahia (2014), and has also curated a number of other shows such as “Future Afro Brazil Visions in Time” (2017), “Vamos de mãos dadas” (2018), “O espaço dividido” (2019), “Zonas limítrofes” (2020) and “Temporão” (2021). He was a substitute professor for the Interdisciplinary Bachelor of Arts at the Federal University of Bahia in 2016 and 2017.
