The residency program at Pivô Salvador welcomes artists for research and artistic production stays. Artists have the opportunity to stay and work in the historic mansion headquarters of Pivô in downtown Salvador, either in the ground floor room or in the mezzanine room adjacent to the studio space.

The program encourages exchange and experimentation among artists and different agents, through spontaneous interactions and/or mediated by the institution. During the residencies, Pivô acts as an intermediary agent for potential interactions between the resident and the city, artists, researchers, and local institutions.

At this moment, the selection of residents occurs spontaneously through collaboration networks, both national and international, that Pivô has built over the years of its existence. Also, through new collaboration proposals with institutions and individual applications. We always count on the support of national and international funding institutions, as well as cultural institutions that, like Pivô, believe in the potential of exchanges for the development of the artistic field.

The program includes, throughout the residency period, the realization of open activities in different formats – workshops, open studio, artist talks, among others – as a way for the artist to engage with the city and the local scene. It thus encompasses a public program of the individual and creative processes developed during the residency and, when possible, an exchange of proposals between the two branches of the institution.
