Alexandre Brandão uses different media such as drawing, sculpture, video, objects and installation. His practice mixes up natural and cultural process, combining chance, time, physical and chemical process with handmade methods of production. Selected group shows include “In Memoriam” (Rio de Janeiro, 2017); “66º Salão Paranaense” (Curitiba, 2017); “Bolsa Pampulha 2015/2016” (Belo Horizonte, 2016); ”Some False Moves” (New York, 2015); “Taipa Tapume” (São Paulo, 2014); “18º and 17º “Festival Internacional de Arte Contemporânea SESC Videobrasil” (SP, 2013 e 2011); “Bienal de Filmes de Arte de Colônia” (Germany, 2005). Holds the solo shows “Experiments with chance” (Paris, 2016), “Floor” (São Paulo, 2015); “Effect with no cause” (São Paulo, 2013) and “Almost shadow” (São Paulo, 2012). In 2010 was granted in the 5th Interamerican Video art Biennial (Washington DC) and in 2014 was granted with the ICCo/SP-Arte Residency Fellowship at the Residency Unlimited, New York.
