During the week of the 16th until the 24th of July, Pivô holds the Campo Aberto [Open Field] event. Campo Aberto gathers the outcomes of the individual processes and collective discussions held during the second cycle of Pivô Research 2022. During the period, the space of the residency is open to the general public and there will be activities programmed by the residents. Cycle II of Pivô Pesquisa 2022 has the participation of Alessio Mazzaro, Ana Flávia Maru, Anti Ribeiro, Astrid González, Ayla Tavares, David Cevallos, Félix Blume, Lina Bailón and Valentina Díaz and Mônica Hoff, curator in charge for the curatorial follow-up of the cycle. 

Besides the open studios, Campo Aberto’s program includes activities proposed by the residents, such as a video show entitled Essa mostra não é online, which takes place in the Pivô’s library space with the presence of the resident artists, and the exhibition of the work Augúrio (questions for the city if São Paulo were a person), by Alessio Mazzaro, made on top of the Copan building. Continuing the creation of spaces of encounter and dialogue, Mazzaro invites the artists in residence for a collective conversation in his studio. The artist proposes a sharing of questions that permeate his research in São Paulo and that build the oral archive of narratives and dreams about the city he has been working on. The audio of the conversation will be amplified outside the artist’s studio and projected onto the city.

Synopsis: A loudspeaker on top of Copan broadcasts the voice of the artist throughout the city of São Paulo. The voice reads the questions that various people would ask the city if it could answer them. The action is part of the research about the city as an entity.
