Pivô + Pinga Store invite the brand ÃO to occupy the shop window

a collaboration between independent fashion, contemporary art, and visual experimentation

The opening of Pinga in the ground space of Pivô, featuring pieces and curation by the brand ÃO, represents a unique collaboration between independent fashion, contemporary art, and visual experimentation.

Pivô is a non-profit cultural association based in the Copan Building in downtown São Paulo, serving as a platform for artistic exchange and experimentation, promoting commissioned projects, exhibitions, artist residencies, and public programs. Pinga is a Brazilian multi-brand known for fostering the talent of local brands and representing the epicenter of independent fashion in the country, standing out as a catalyst for individual expression and innovation in the fields of fashion, art, and lifestyle. ÃO, on the other hand, is an experimental clothing brand challenging the traditional female silhouette through volumes and textures.

The new Pinga store will feature a selection of conceptual clothing pieces, unique accessories, and design and art items from local brands that will cyclically occupy the space throughout the year. By inviting other designers, ÃO creates a platform for the sharing of ideas and collaborations among creators. In this context, Pinga’s presence in Pivô’s space creates opportunities for future joint initiatives, such as events, exhibitions, or art and fashion projects exploring the intersections between creative areas, highlighting the role of clothing as a form of cultural and artistic expression with a focus on the visibility of Brazilian designers.

The space’s design is authored by the architecture firm CLUBE in collaboration with the visual artist Marc do Nascimento. Resulting from an interpretation of Oscar Niemeyer’s building geometry, a metallic screen, made of natural aluminum profiles and galvanized steel plates, duplicates the store’s curvilinear showcase and demonstrates its construction through straight segments. Two openings and a mirror break its regular structure. This device, responsible for exhibiting objects and clothing, mediates between the exterior and the interior. The lighting, developed in conjunction with Nina Morelli, constructs an aerial surface of tubular lamps that depart from the central pillar axis and are rotated by 45 degrees. Thus, they align perpendicularly to the store’s main entrance, producing a rotation effect according to the visitor’s movement. These elements, combined with the small architectures of the cashier, fitting room, stockroom, and warehouse, as well as the nylon curtains, clothing rack, plastic shelves, and some furniture objects designed by CLUBE, reconstruct the space from a scenographic and exhibitory point of view.
