The performance Mani-Festa AMÉFRICA MIX TAPE is based on the epic/fantastic narrative of the show AMÉFRICA: IN 3 ACTS, created from several stories about characters present in historical uprisings, in the cosmovisions and in black and indigenous narratives, including the different ritual practices and oral literature existing in the country. Based on the notion of Amefricanity, coined by Lélia Gonzalez, the Concept-action of Retaking, of the Tupinambás of Serra do Padeiro, and the Concept of Confluence, elaborated by Antônio “Nego Bispo”, counterpoints will be made to the characters of the official colonial history in the American continent.
Améfrica MixTape is not the play, but an unfolding of it: a performative sound and visual occupation, with projections by @vicvonpose, texts by Legítima Defesa and sets by DJ Eugênio Lima, director of the show.
