Since the launch of Pivô Research’s open call, we received over 200 applications from artists all around the world. The proposals went through a meticulous selection by the Selection Committee – comprised by Camila Bechelany (curator of MASP) and Bernardo de Souza (director of Iberê ​​Camargo Foundation) – and, finally, by the Patrons’ Committee. From this process, four artists were granted with a 3-month residency at Pivô, between March and June, 2018.

Pivô has the pleasure to announce the 4 selected artists, and thank all the applicants who sent their proposals. The quality of the sent material was remarkable. The 4 artists are:

Eleni Bagaki – Athens, Greece
Guido Yannitto – Buenos Aires, Argentina
Engel Leonardo – National District, Dominican Republic
Pedro Victor Brandão – Rio de Janeiro, Brazil

Our special thanks to the Nomination Committee, comprised by  João Mourão and Luis Silva (Kunsthalle Lissabon, Portugal), Chris Sharp (Lulu, Mexico), Samuel Leuenberger (Salts, Switzerland) and Alessio Antoniolli (Gasworks, UK).

Pivô is also very grateful to the Selection and the Patrons’ Committees, due their engagement and time spent choosing the four granted artists. We would like to invite all the artists to get to know Pivô Research’s program and submit new proposals all over the year.
