1979, lives and works at São Paulo
Born in 1979 in São Paulo, Pedro Caetano lives and works in São Paulo, Brazil. In 2006, he graduated in Cinema at FAAP – Fundação Armando Alvares Penteado. During his studies, he also explored the fields of History and Industrial Design, which informed his multidisciplinary approach within the art system.
In 2007, he founded the polinesia gallery and served as the producer and DJ of the Delírio party, in collaboration with Adriano Costa (1975). During the same period, he collaborated with the now-extinct film magazine PLANO B and developed various curatorial projects, including Mel do Melhor and É Junho Mas Parece Novembro, both presented at polinesia gallery (São Paulo, 2007).
In 2010, he held his first solo show, Os Grandes Sucessos de Pedro Caetano, at polinesia gallery, followed by MACHINA ZERO at Alvaro Razuk Arquitetura (São Paulo, 2012). In 2013, he received the Franc Villa Acquisition Prize at the XV Convocatòria Internacional (Valencia, Spain). His artistic practice blends diverse influences, drawing on established artists and movements—such as North American minimalism and post-war German art—while incorporating a contemporary vocabulary of images derived from media and digital platforms.
Between 2014 and 2018, he participated in group exhibitions in Milan, Hamburg, Vienna, Buenos Aires, Jalisco, and New York. In 2015, he held the solo exhibitions Bunda banana arte contemporânea, at Kunsthalle São Paulo, and Tudo bem, at Centro Cultural São Paulo.
