Renan Marcondes is a visual artist, performer and researcher. PhD student at USP with research on neoliberalism, performance and presence. His work articulates choreography, sculpture and theoretical research to create pathetic situations to think about the genealogy of performance art. He is also a founding member of Pérfida Iguana, a contemporary dance group, created in partnership with the dancer Carolina Callegaro. His main projects include Human Proximity Protectors (MAJ SESC award, Paço das Artes Season of Projects; 43rd SARP prize), How a tortoise killed a jaguar and made a harmonica of one of his bones (ProAc 2015, sp arte performance award) and INVISIBLE PROJECT (in process). In 2018 he was awarded with the Prize for creation in residecy for young coreographers at the Museum of Image and Sound from São Paulo. With his practical and theoretical work, he has participated in important events such as VERBO, Sesc Biennial of Dance, MITsp, "Abre Alas", among others. His most recent solo shows are: Against Body (Oficina Cultural Oswald de Andrade), What does the body shelter (CAAA, Portugal, 2017) and Deep Fake (Adelina Institute, 2018).
